From Limitless to Real Life: Is AI the Closest Thing to the NZT Pill?
Have you ever watched a film and wished that one part of its fictional world could become real? For me, that happened with Limitless — a story about a pill called NZT that transforms what its user can accomplish.
When I watched the film roughly ten years ago, I wanted something similar: a safe way to learn faster, turn ideas into results and accomplish things that seemed beyond my abilities.
Today, I am beginning to experience a practical version of that wish. It comes through working with artificial intelligence.
What Makes Limitless So Appealing?
In Limitless, starring Bradley Cooper, struggling writer Eddie Morra takes a fictional substance called NZT and gains extraordinary mental abilities. Suddenly, tasks that once seemed impossible become manageable.
The appeal goes beyond intelligence. It is the speed of transformation: unfinished work becomes finished work, unfamiliar subjects become accessible, and opportunities become easier to recognize.
For anyone with more ideas than time, that is a powerful fantasy.
The film also explores the dangers of pursuing extraordinary abilities without understanding their cost. As a thriller, it turns ambition and sudden success into a source of tension. As a thought experiment, it raises an interesting question: what would we do if our capabilities suddenly expanded?
My Real-Life Version Started with Ordinary Tasks
I did not begin by asking AI to transform my life. I started with practical work: discussing ideas, preparing articles and finding ways to put useful information on my website.
Then something interesting happened. Tasks that previously required outside help or hours of searching became possible through a conversation.
- An idea could become a structured article.
- A Slovak discussion could become an English draft.
- An article could become HTML for a website.
- A technical problem could be broken into understandable steps.
- Several possible approaches could be compared before choosing one.
The biggest surprise was the combination of speed and access to new skills. I could attempt work that I would previously have postponed because I did not know where to start.
In Some Tasks, AI Goes Beyond the NZT Fantasy
NZT gives a fictional character an extraordinary brain. AI gives a real person access to an external tool that can produce drafts, explanations, translations and code.
In some practical tasks, that feels even more useful than the film's fantasy. I do not have to personally master every programming language before asking for a simple piece of HTML. I can explain what I need, examine the result and improve it through further discussion.
AI can also produce several versions of an idea, change the tone of a text or explain the same concept at different levels of difficulty.
The remarkable change is the shorter distance between “I have an idea” and “I have something I can use.”
That does not make AI an all-knowing mind. Its usefulness depends on the task, the information available and how carefully the result is checked.
A Practical Example: Publishing with AI and Webnode
If you would like to create your own website, Webnode is the platform I use. You can explore whether it suits your project through the link below.

One example is this website. I use Webnode to publish content, and AI helps me prepare articles and turn them into HTML that I can insert into the editor.
The process can be straightforward:
- Start with a useful idea. What question should the article answer?
- Develop the content. Add practical examples, personal experience and clear explanations.
- Review the draft. Check facts, calculations, wording and any claims that need evidence.
- Prepare simple HTML. Use headings, paragraphs, lists and links.
- Preview the page. Check how it looks on a computer and a phone before publishing.
Even this process involves trial and error. In my case, HTML with additional styling caused problems when inserted into the editor. A simpler version without custom styles finally worked.
That small experience captures an important lesson: AI can accelerate the work, but the result still has to function in the real environment where you use it.
Can AI Help You Write a Book in a Day?
AI can help produce a substantial draft very quickly. It can suggest an outline, develop sections, improve explanations and identify repetition.
However, a long draft and an excellent book are different achievements.
A useful book needs accurate information, a clear purpose, relevant examples and careful editing. If it offers practical advice, the reader should be able to apply that advice with a realistic understanding of its limits.
AI can dramatically shorten drafting time. Quality still depends on the knowledge, judgment and care behind the finished work.
The Weak Point: Confidence Can Look Like Accuracy
One of AI's most misleading qualities is that an incorrect answer can sound just as fluent as a correct one.
It may misunderstand a request, invent a detail, overlook a condition or produce code that needs correction. A polished presentation can make these problems harder to notice.
I find a few habits especially useful:
- Give clear context. Explain your goal, audience and practical constraints.
- Work in manageable steps. Review important parts before building further.
- Verify consequential claims. Check sources and calculations, especially when mistakes could cost money or cause harm.
- Test the output. Preview the webpage, try the code or follow the instructions yourself.
- Add your own experience. It can reveal missing details and make the result more useful.
More Possibilities Can Also Mean More Distraction
Once creating becomes easier, it is tempting to start everything: a website, a guide, a business, a video series and several other projects.
But the hours in a day remain the same. Publishing, supporting customers and maintaining a project still take time.
A practical approach is to choose one worthwhile task, define what a finished result looks like and use AI to help complete it. Ten unfinished projects rarely provide the value of one useful project that reaches its audience.
What This Means for Earning Income
AI can reduce the time needed to create an article, prepare a digital guide or build a simple online tool. That can make a small project more affordable to attempt.
Income still depends on whether people need the result, trust it and can find it. Creating more content does not automatically create more customers.
For me, the most promising use of AI is to combine it with experience and produce something that helps people make better decisions or solve a concrete problem.
The Real Opportunity
Years ago, Limitless made me imagine what life could be like with dramatically expanded abilities. Today, AI lets me explore a practical version of that possibility.
I can move faster, attempt unfamiliar tasks and turn more ideas into something tangible. I also need to check the work, correct mistakes and decide what deserves my attention.
We may never have a fictional NZT pill. We already have tools that can expand what we accomplish — if we learn to use them well.
